10/4/2020 Blast, paint, repeat.

So begins the painting of all the suspension parts going back on the M. We had previously blasted all the parts free of 47 years of rust and road grime so we only had to clean up the bare metal with some fresh glass media, blast with air and wipe down each part before spraying.

Made short work of it over 2 days and now have a nice heavy enamel coating and a clear coat on all parts.

Of course I had completely forgotten about the rear axle hubs. So the next weekend we went about removing U-joints and ordering remaining parts needed for rebuilding the hubs.

It took some research but found the correct (I hope) Dana Spicer U-joints for the M. Part#5-3214X in case any one else is looking. I've had U-joints fail on me before and it is catastrophic. I could not with good conscience put anything other than Spicer in.

We were hoping to be able to start reassembly but upon actually unboxing all of the Tvrparts we had ordered we discovered the suspension bushes we were shipped were purple.

So they had to go back and was able to find good poly bushes from Superflex that are black.

So now we are waiting for them and a few other seals and brake components so we can hopefully have a rolling chassis by 2021.
