First off we've got a parts washer and media blast cabinet now for cleaning up parts to paint.

Makes short work of removing 46 years of corrosion.

Sourced a good 4speed with OD in PA. Thank you Matt!

Found inner fenders from a real gentleman and expert builder. Thank you Colin M!

So I now have all the pieces I was looking for that I thought we're going to be major hurdles.
We have disassembled all axles as far as I can do.

Having real difficulty with lower A arms on rear axle housings! Anyone know how these come apart? Is it a threaded rod through the aluminum? Any suggestions on how to remove and replace the bushing on these as that rod is in there solid. Will I need to take these to a machine shop to have drilled out and rethreaded for a new rod?

Any knowledge here would be appreciated.
Also what have others done about replacing shock absorbers? I've seen the new sets available from spax, avo, and gaz but those wouldn't have been available in the 70s and my springs are in good shape (measuring out) don't really want to spend $1k on shocks and springs. Any one know what I can use of more of a stock replacement or the part number for the Armstrong that came on this thing originally? When I look up the number 621240 from the shocks I get no results.

Any help or advise on any of the above is appreciated.

I bought them from Dominion Spares (Bill Rachal). They were $546 total for springs and shocks plus $67 shipping but that was 3 years ago. Check my April 12 email to you. There is a copy of the Dominion Spares invoice attached.
Bill also has the pivot rods although they are not very expensive to have machined even out of titanium. I used Grade 5 (6al-4v); commonly available in 1/2" bar stock, high strength, sufficiently ductile and corrosion/rust resistant.
Thanks Nick, I found a machine shop familiar with British car restores to do just that.
Where did you source the shocks and springs? Everywhere I look they want $250 each?
Once installed the GAZ are pretty much indistiguishable from the original, other than not being blue.
I don't think Armstrong exists anymore. You won't have much luck as I recall other than KONI, SPAX, AVO or GAZ. KONI's were adjustable and available back when the 2500M was built as were coil-overs. The coil over GAZ that I installed were $550 for 4 adjustables including springs.
You might want to talk to Apple Hydraulics, they might also be able to help with the rear suspension upright.
The rear suspension lower pivot is supposed to be a sliding/light interference fit. I have never heard of one that wasn't seized and it must be removed to separate the lower control arm and the upright. As I posted earlier (in February) about the lower pivot rod in the rear upright;…
